Is parking available onsite?

Yes. Those arriving by car should call the Pennovation Center or the Pennovation Works tenant that you are visiting for specific parking information.

How is access to Pennovation Works monitored?

A Security Guard welcomes visitors at the gate at the Gray’s Ferry Avenue entrance. Visitors should be prepared to show identification and state the nature of their visit to Pennovation Works.  The site is not currently open to general public.

How is access to Pennovation Center monitored?

Visitors to the Pennovation Center building will be asked to check in at the Front Desk in the lobby of the Pennovation Center, located at the South Side entrance to the building.

Is there access for persons with disabilities to the Pennovation Center Building? 

The building is in full compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

About the Pennovation Works and the Pennovation Center

What is the difference between Pennovation Works and the Pennovation Center? 

The Pennovation Works is the 23-acre property located at the intersection of 34th Street and Grays Ferry Avenue in Philadelphia. This property is designed to be a unique blend of offices, labs and production spaces. 

The Pennovation Center is one building on the Pennovation Works site, complete with labs, creative spaces, and coworking areas.

Is the Pennovation Center Open?

The Pennovation Center was open for occupancy at the end of summer 2016. Inquiries from prospective tenants are currently welcome. Request a Tour.

What type of food facilities does Pennovation Center Building have?

Do you have to have a Penn affiliation to be a member of the Pennovation Center or a tenant of the Pennovation Works? 

No, no formal affiliation with the University of Pennsylvania is required.  Researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs are welcome to indicate interest in becoming a tenant of the Pennovation Works or a member of the Pennovation Center.

What types of companies or organizations are located there? 

Pennovation Works is populated by a variety of tenants in research, robotics, life sciences, healthcare, design, and publishing. 

The Pennovation Center will house an engineering field facility, as well as membership-based coworking space for any number of entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Operations

What are the operating hours for Pennovation Center?

Normal operating hours for the Pennovation Center are 7AM - 7PM Monday through Friday.

Certain members enjoy 24 hour-7 day per week access.

The Pennovation Center also is open on select evenings for meetings, trainings and events. (Current pandemic guidelines notwithstanding.)

There are many ways to work, collaborate and engage at the Pennovation Center. The space features offices, lab benches, Inventor Garages and coworking desks on two floors and flexible plans to fit any budget and workstyle.

What is the working and social environment like at Pennovation Center?

Whether you are a researcher, solopreneur, multi-person startup, freelancer or mobile professional, there are many ways to work, collaborate and engage at the Pennovation Center.  Members at a variety of levels may choose from private office suites, Inventor Garages, or open, coworking spaces that encourage collaboration. 

The main Bleacher in the center of the building, the café, and multiple lounges offer a number of ways to connect and explore working and social connections. 

We host member-only and public networking events and professional development sessions every week.

What is Penn Center for Innovation and what services does it provide?

The Penn Center for Innovation (PCI) helps to translate Penn discoveries and ideas into new products and businesses for the benefit of society. It does this by facilitating technology development connections between Penn and the private sector. Whether the end result is a technology license, an R&D alliance, the formation of a new venture or an integrated combination of any or all of these activities, PCI serves as a dedicated one-stop shop for commercial partnering with Penn.

Who is responsible for moderating questions or situations that may arise among Pennovation Center members?

The Pennovation Center operator, 76Forward, is responsible for all interactions with and among Pennovation Center members.

What is the Pennovation Center policy about pets? 

We love pets, but sorry we don't issue them guest passes. Service animals are of course always welcome.
