Startup Grind with Bethany Edwards [event recap]

On April 15th, the Pennovation Center was thrilled to host Bethany Edwards for Startup Grind! Bethany Edwards is the CEO & Co-Founder of LIA Diagnostics, revolutionizing over­-the­-counter women’s health products. She has combined engineering, design, and business acumen to create Lia: the first FDA-cleared flushable, biodegradable pregnancy test. Since LIA’s founding in 2015, Bethany has transformed Lia from master’s thesis to tangible, efficacious product with significant brand traction.

In conversation with 1776 CEO, Jennifer Maher, Bethany shared with an audience of 31 engaged community members her entrepreneurial journey - from growing up in a house under a hill to the power of iteration in product design and development. "Creating something that has never existed in the world before is exhilarating," Bethany shared. "Curiosity is a really powerful driver... not knowing everything allows you to think in creative, interesting ways."
