Mid Atlantic Pharmacology Society's Annual Meeting [event recap]

The Mid Atlantic Pharmacology Society chose the Pennovation Center their 2018 Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 27th. Organized in part by Kyle Palmer, CSO of Opertech Bio and a proud Pennovation member, this year's Annual Meeting focused on research surrounding opioids and analgesics. The day kicked off with an engaging poster session from students and researchers from Philadelphia and the surrounding region, and was followed by an afternoon of dynamic speakers and informative panels. Pennovation members Taciana Pereira (Allevi) and Neha Saxena (PolyAurum) were part of a biotechnology panel that discussed the connection between biotech research and pharmacology. The Annual Meeting was a great opportunity for MAPS members to learn about and engage with the research of their peers and to tap into the Pennovation ecosystem. As Dr. Palmer put it, "We are delighted to be holding our annual conference at the Pennovation Center and for our members to see what a terrific space we've been able to tap into here."
