The University of Pennsylvania’s Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services welcomes IAG, Image Analysis Group to the entrepreneurial ecosystem unfolding at the Pennovation Center, the anchor building on the University’s 23-acre site designed to connect researchers, students, and corporate constituents working to bring critical advancements in a variety of fields to market. As a catalyst for research, incubator for invention, hub for commerce, and force for a region rich in industry, resources, and talent, the Center quickly caught the attention of IAG, when the UK-based company sought to establish a headquarters on US soil.

IAG is a unique partner to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies developing novel therapeutic agents to improve patients’ lives. The company leverages their expertise in medical imaging, their industry leading cloud-based software DYNAMIKA for managing clinical trials, and proprietary AI driven methodologies to support the clinical development process. They believe that strategic use of imaging (such as MRI, CI, and PET) accelerates drug development, lowers investment risks, and optimizes operational outcomes.

IAG’s team is a leader in the efficient use of modern technologies and novel methodologies for imaging data analysis.  They believe they can help the life sciences industry to increase the speed and quality of innovation, while simultaneously reducing development costs and increasing the likelihood for promising therapeutics to reach patients.

IAG’s CEO Dr. Olga Kubassova said that there is no better time to foster deeper collaborations between the bio-pharma industry, technology companies, academic researchers, physicians, and patients. With this mission in mind, it’s no wonder IAG was drawn to Philadelphia and a 255-square foot Inventor Garage within the Pennovation Center. In their new city and maker space, IAG is surrounded by clients, with very easy access to major transportation hubs to reach new customers and partners.

Dr. Kubassova also cites the Pennovation Center as an ideal location for recruiting top quality professionals, given the proximity of universities in the greater Philadelphia area. “We are delighted to open our USA office, which ensures stronger links with our USA partners and gives us the opportunity to employ the best on both sides of the Atlantic,” says Olga.

Affordability, office amenities, the collaborative atmosphere at the Pennovation Center, as well as access to the Penn network of students and researchers, top the list of reasons why IAG was driven to establish a presence at the Pennovation site in particular. “We are excited to be a part of this dynamic environment, which motivates and supports our growing team.”

“Entrepreneurs joining the Pennovation Center are developing technologies and products poised to significantly improve our lives and our health,” explains Anne Papageorge, Vice President, Facilities & Real Estate Services at Penn. “The Center provides an unmatched atmosphere for collaboration, creativity, and productivity, with scientifically advanced facilities and ready access to an expert workforce. IAG is joining a community of innovators in a vibrant city energized by entrepreneurship, and it’s great to see the global reach of this Pennovation Works ecosystem attracting internationally-based companies as well.  We are excited to welcome them.”
