Grays Ferry Job Fair

On Saturday, June 9th, the Pennovation Center welcomed the Grays Ferry community for a lively job fair and lunch. Spearheaded by community advocate, Kyle Shenandoah, the job fair drew almost 300 participants and over 60 employers, as well as citations from Mayor Kenney's office and the City Council. There were representatives from PECO, SEPTA, Security services (including FBI, Philadelphia POLICE, State Police and private services), transportation companies looking for drivers, care giving organizations looking for providers, and non-profits that specialize in helping community people find jobs in Philadelphia (Urban League, Goodwill and others). After the fair ended, the leftover lunches were donated to a local senior home to continue the theme of community partnership and engagement.
