On Monday, September 8th, Pennovation Works was proud to partner with The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia to host 110 attendees for two signature trade events helping regional companies go global through insight, access, and strategy.
During the day, Bringing the World To PA (BTW2PA) gave founders the chance to schedule 1:1 meetings with all 13 of PA's Authorized Trade Representative (ATR) overseas offices. Representatives were present from Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom/Ireland.
That evening, a program called Commonwealth Connects provided networking, real stories of international business success, and practical insights from Pennsylvania’s global trade and innovation ecosystem.
The panel, moderated by Jen Gilburg, Deputy Secretary of Tech and Entrepreneurship at PA Department of Community and Economic Development, with panelists Harish Bolla, VP of Operations at VideoRay, Steve Figgatt, Founder & CEO at Sycamore International, and Declan Barry, PA's Authorized Trade and Investment Representative for the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia, offered practical insights and examples of doing business internationally.
Other speakers included Thomas Young, President and CEO, World Trade Center of Greater Phladelphia, Kirsten King, Associate Director of Engagement and Experience at Pennovation Works, David Briel, Managing Director of International Trade & Investment at Business PA International, Karen Fegely, Acting Commerce Director at the City of Philadelphia, and Jordan Rogers, Director at Archer Public Affairs.
