That’s a Wrap on Philly Tech Week!

On May 6-12 this year, the 12th annual Philly Tech Week (PTW) took place, highlighting technology and innovation happening throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. The week was filled with in-person and virtual events held throughout the city organized by various companies and led by Technical.ly, a news organization that serves a community of tech professionals.

Pennovation Works kicked off PTW with the Penn Robotics Discussion and Showcase held at the Pennovation Center, and hosted by Penn Center for Innovation (PCI) and Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT). This conversation about the latest trends in robotics was moderated by Penn Engineering Dean Dr. Vijay Kumar and included a discussion and demo with panelists from Penn-affiliated companies Exyn Technologies, Treeswift, IQ Motion Control, and Recupero Robotics.

PTW continued on Tuesday, May 10th at the Philly Startup Leaders Entrepreneur Expo held at the 23rd Street Armory. The Entrepreneur Expo is the largest annual showcase of startups and technology companies in the Philadelphia region. PCI, PCI Ventures and Pennovation Works set up on ‘University Row’ to enjoy an evening of networking with Philly’s best and brightest tech entrepreneurs.

Pennovation Works concluded Philly Tech Week on Thursday, May 12th with the Introduced Conference, Technical.ly’s annual company-building conference, followed by the Signature Event.  Penn Associate Vice Provost John Swartley, and Bhavana Mohanraj, PhD of PCI Ventures, had conversation with Chris Wink at a pre-recorded session where participants were introduced to the ideas, people and opportunities that build better companies. Penn staff and Pennovation Works community members enjoyed an evening of networking at the Signature Event held at Sunset Social, and celebrated a week of connecting with some of the region’s most fascinating entrepreneurs, technologists, and change agents.
